Texas General Land Office

Texas General Land Office

The GLO archives house the original land grants made by the successive sovereigns of Texas (Spain, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, and the state of Texas) between 1720 and roughly 1900. Many of these documents continue to be used even today by surveyors, land men and others researching land ownership. The rich primary source material also makes the Archives a haven for genealogists, historians, archaeologists and students.
