The Catholic Archives of Texas

The Catholic Archives of Texas collects, preserves, and makes available for research the records of the individuals, families, communities, institutions, and organizations that have made up the Catholic Church in Texas from the 16th century to the present.  Located in Austin, we collect from throughout the state’s fifteen dioceses and from jurisdictions such as Spain and Mexico that once included what is now Texas. We document the Catholic experience in Texas through books, periodicals, maps, manuscripts, drawings, paintings, prints, photographs, and artifacts. We are open to researchers by appointment, Monday through Friday. Find us online at catholicarchivesoftx.org/.
