Two & Fro
DaLyah Jones & Jacquelyn Carter will be discussing their work on the Two & Fro podcast, a series on underrepresented communities and issues related to the black southern experience.
DaLyah Jones is an assistant producer, host and reporter for Austin’s NPR Station KUT 90.5’s “All Things Considered.” She’s also a co-host of the independent “Two and Fro” podcast. When she’s not at the station, she’s staning for Beyoncé. Originally from East Texas, she’s a recent graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in electronic media and a minor in communication studies. As an undergraduate, DaLyah served as the assistant news director for KTSW 89.9, Texas State’s college radio station, and was a reporter for NPR’s Next Generation Radio. She also has interned for New York Public Radio (WNYC), “Texas Standard,” KUT 90.5 and KTRE News, the ABC affiliate serving Lufkin and Nacogdoches in East Texas. Last summer, she was a Knight CUNYJ Fellow.
Jacquelyn Carter graduated cum laude from Texas State University in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electronic media and a communication studies minor. She was very active at Texas State’s radio station KTSW 89.9, where she served as a DJ and co-host of the award-winning “In the Public Interest” specialty show. She currently is the co-host of “Two and Fro,” the podcast dedicated to telling in-depth stories about the southern black woman experience. Jacquelyn currently serves as the Digital Media Specialist for an apartment complex group based in Houston. She describes herself as a Beyonce connoisseur, social media junkie and in her spare time, she enjoys reading people and books.
